Benoni Baptism!

On this special Sunday, many people entered the waters of baptism across the South Africa Johannesburg Mission.
We were so fortunate to attend a few of these special baptisms today.

Above is Brother Obakeng Sefatsa and his beautiful wife and son, Lesedi. This was a very special day for them, because Obakeng and his son were able to accept the challenge to be baptised.
His wife will be baptized hopefully next month. She is ready, but has had to work on Sundays, so she has been unable to attend church with them as often. She will be ready by next month. Our wonderful Zone Leaders, Elder Olson and Beers are teaching her and are pictured below.

Another very special part of this baptism is that Elder Koyle, front left, was asked to baptise Obakeng today. Elder Koyle found and taught him many months ago with Elder Otieno. Elder Koyle has one more week before his mission ends, so this is very special. We were so honored to be part of this baptism today.

In addition ot Obakeng's baptism, his son Lesidi got baptised and also two young women, Samantha Khoza and Mirci Ndlovu.

Ephraim is in both pictures and is dressed in white today, because he was asked to baptize Samantha. He joined the church himself just over 4 months ago. Elder Koyle also taught and baptized him. So, needless to say, it was a wonderful day to see a recent convert, performing this sacred ordinance for someone else.

President Dunn and I were asked to share a testimony with the group that gathered for this special baptism. They also heard form Elder Olson and Bonginkosi Ntombela as speakers. Brother Thokozane Malok represented the Bishopric and conducted the meeting with love and warmth.

Again, a special thanks to our great Benoni Zone Leaders, Elder Olson and Elder Beers. It was meaningful to have Elder Koyle come back as a past Benoni Zone Leader and be part of this special day on his second to last Sunday in South Africa.
