The "green zone" room was launched at this zone conference. This is a store for those missionaries that received a "green card" for keeping their flats and cars clean. If so, they get to come into the "green zone" and pick 1 item. This time we had ties, thrift store clothing, grab bags with goodies and scripture coloring books and crayons for their investigator families. It is always a hit to offer some incentives for impressive behavior. Keep it up!
After the conference: Elder Lamini, Elder Carr, Elder Benson,
Elder A'home'e
Elder Lefthand and Elder Todd giving Elder Wegrowski a lift!

An Easter rebirth

                          Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016
Masih and Nazia Ashfaq were baptized in the Johannesburg 1 ward. What a special event to occur on Easter Sunday.

"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life." Romans 6:4
We were so lucky to be part of this special occasion. President Dunn first met the Ashfaq's over the phone, when their details came across on referral information from the church.
President Dunn had a chance to talk to them and heard first hand about their interest about learning more about the church. Their brother is a member and they had just moved to Johannesburg and wanted to  have the missionaries come and visit. Elder Masoka and now Elder Clegg, joined with Elder Pickup to teach and then baptize them.

Bishop Makasi baptized Nazia and Elder Pickup baptized Masih (his name actually means Messiah in translation)

Elder Clegg and Elder Pickup both were asked to speak at the baptism. They did a wonderful job relating the Book of Mormon and the Saviour Jesus Christ to the principles of baptism. It as so powerful and attended by many ward members.

The room was full.

The spirit was evident.

The testimonies shared by this sweet couple were a perfect way to honor the Savior on this Easter Day.

The church got 2 valiant new members today. They have this beautiful 3 year old little girl and a brand new baby, only 2 weeks old.'
