Memorial Service for Elder Latu

Memorial service link:

On the morning of Sunday January 1, 2017 a group of missionaries met at the mission home and headed 5 hours to KaNymazane for the memorial service for Elder Latu.

Warm greeting happened there with our Elders.

The KaNymazane branch had just finished sacrament meeting and were waiting for us to arrive.

Sister Black and Sister Card were so helpful in making so many of the arrangements and getting it scheduled for this day.

All the members and visitors present on this memorable day.

This was truly a celebration of Elder Latu's life. Everyone commented that he would want us to be happy and share his love for life and for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Elder and Sister Card and Elder and Sister Black add so much to the Nelpsruit District

President and Sister Dunn feel so honored to be part of this meaningful first day of the year.

Elder and Sister French came up from the area office to support this day. They have spent meaningful time with each of these surviving  Elders in helping them to process this event. Elder Droubay, Elder Andrews and Elder Eatough will be forever grateful for the help and counseling Sister French has provided.

Elder Card is cleaning up last items. This is their last week in the branch. We say good-bye to them next Sunday, January 8th!

Driving out of beautiful KaNymazane today was so reflective. The spirit of Elder Latu was with us today and we know this day lives on, as he does in our hearts.
