We also were able to invite and get Yves Malapula to join with us. We were hosting Kari Kruger from Cape Town for the week and so it was quite a gathering for Sunday lunch.
This was a special day to have Kari with us and her own ward member and our former AP, Elder Malapula come.
Yves served over a year ago and after returning home to Cape Town, has come to Joburg to pursue an education with the church's Pathways program. |
It worked our nicely to have him be brought to the mission home by the Mocke's who have their own special reason to be celebrating a fun new chapter in their life.
After many, many years serving as the MTC Director, Mark and Debbie are heading to BYU Idaho to pursue a degree for Debbie and a chance to mix it up and be with their 2 sons in the States.
They have been thinking of possibly making this move for years and it is the time to give it a try.
We loved having them all over for lunch and hearing all about their plans. With many of our returned missionaries attending BYU- Idaho, we hope some of them run into Debi on campus and Mark around Rexburg.
President Mocke was also just released from serving in the Roodepoort Stake Presidency with President Krantz. They will be missed and it will be exciting to see what the future brings for them. They have kept their home here and are not leaving for good- but seeing where this adventure takes them and being open to possibilities.
We love them and wish them well...and hope to see them Stateside in a little over a year!
