Ikageng Visit

On Wednesday September 2, 2015, we found ourselves in Jouberton, in the Ikageng district. This area is 2 hours from our mission office and the Elders serving there can be a little isolated. Elder Turauskis is training Elder Kuwela in Jouberton. It was fun to meet up with them for some contacting before our evening training meeting.

We were chaffered by them to a township called Extension 6. They have a lot of investigators, there phone just kept ringing, which kept Elder T. on his toes. We tracked with them in this area and made one door contact and got a name and number for a return visit.  We also got in a house and were able to watch them teach and have a first discussion with a husband and wife. It was such a pleasure to be with both of these good Elders for a few hours. We were very impressed with their skills, commitment and enthusiasm.

Later we went to the Jouberton branch and President Dunn conducted some temple recommend interviews. It was such a pleasure to meet this mother and daughter duo. They are going to the temple for the first time this weekend, right before mission papers get submitted. What faithful, wonderful people.

We then drove to Klerksdorp and had a training meeting for the branch presidencies and their wives of Jouberton, Klerksdorp and Potchefstroom. It was a delight to be with everyone and the training was on "Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy." This new directive and training from the church is wonderful and really focuses on things that matter most. It was  delightful evening together and fun to provide a homemade meal, along with the training.
